It would be nice if the code to eliminate the dongle were shared at this point since there is no longer an economic benefit to Autodesk, but I don't expect that either.

I do wish Dillon et al all the best as they move on to their next challenges, as they all must.

That is obviously down the road for a while, but with the general acceleration rate of R&D could be sooner than one would think.Īnd frankly, I don't expect them to continue this forum very long either. All the meetings or letters to Autodesk in the world won't change their minds. The issue moving forward for many of us is going to be when the "latest" Windows will not support our legacy AC versions and we are totally out of luck. Although I have no economic plan for it, of course, I'll be using AC to program it. But I love the software and cnc to the extent that I just bought another cnc machine. It is such a specialty item and frankly, at least in the US, lost out on the marketing end to Brian a while ago.Ĭoincidentally, shortly after I upgraded I actually sold my shop and went into another field. I recall discussions when they bought Delcam that the money in Delcam was not with Artcam. I will assume the high road that at that time Scott didn't know that this was a going out of business sale! It does not surprise me that AutoCAD killed Artcam. Well-I guess I'm one of the last to know but the last email I got from Artcam was an offer from Scott to get the latest subscription version (I have disc ownership on 2015 and decided then that subscription was not for me ) for 50% off in November.

Maintenance Plan and Subscription renewals for ArtCAM will continue to be available until July 7, 2018.As of February 7, 2018, customers will no longer be able to purchase a new ArtCAM subscription. This change will have the following implications for subscribers and customers with active maintenance plans: We regret to inform you that on July 7, 2018, ArtCAM will be discontinued with no planned future releases or updates.
